U-Turn


LI: To make a book interactive.
LI: To analyse a story for its conflict and resolution.
This week for reading we had to make a intercative DLO showing the book U-Turn. We had to Find 3 vocabulary words, 2 idioms, 3 vocab questions and 3 figurative languages. Then we highlighted 1 for and example. We had to make sure that we had to original text information so were not copyright and so we are telling the author of the book that we arn't copying theri book. Then if they find any of those vocabulary ect then it comes up with a question. You have to answer it if your correct it will take you to a page that says they are correct but if theyr't correct it will take them to a page saying incorrect then it will take them back to the reading page. This is interactive so it looks real.

Kiwi Can



L.I is to learn the meaning of respect.
This week at Kiwi Can we were learning about respect and what it means. Next we played a Game called: Center Ball. It is a game where you have to get into a circle, number offed 1 - 4. If your number is called you have to run around clock wise and back into your your spot then the first person to grab the ball in the middle wins. Then we talked about respect. We said "What rules will be better off with our school". 

Some people said "Chewing gum allowd" and some people said "No uniform". I said yes to both because chewing gum might help you to fockus and to clean your teeth and yes to no uniform because it shows your personality. After talking about respect we played our activity called: Bus stop. It is a listing game so you have: Name, food, animal, song, game and toal. 

When a letter is called you have to name as many this starting with that. If someone gets the same then its 5 points but if different 10 points. When some oen is finished they say bus stop and everyone stops writing. Lastly we got into our points. We got: 55544 which was 23 same as group B.

L.I to make a DLO showing the days of this weeks weather in maori
This week for Maori Mrs Fire Odie read us a story called Maori Weather. It was showing us the different types of weather in maori and the places that wather usally happens in maori. Then we had to make a DLO showing Last sunday to today (Wednesday). Sunday was cloudy, Monday and tuesday were rainy and today / Wednesday is sunny. Then we had to write what day, what weather and what date in maori to show the days of this weeks weather in maori/

Commenting


L.I is to comment something positive on someones blog
This week I have commented on Andrews blog. He has blogged about Statistics which has to do with maths. I told him that he has done a great job and just told him to add one image to his post to make it more interesting. This time I made a positive comment that he has done a great amount of work.

Keyboarding Typing Practice


L.I is to learn how to type  
This week for the Key/Hand I did Typing Practice. I have the speed of 37. This is good for typing fast when you need to do work fast before something happens then you can finish. Multiplacation


L.I is to learn your Times Tales and blog about it
This week for our Multiplication or Division I had done my 1 - 12 timer tables. I now know most of my times tables but I just need to work on my 12 times because they are really hard to add and multiply when you are adding and multiplying 12 and 12. This will help me when it comes to other multiplacation questions.

Paragraph Linking

LI: to correct certain structure and language features in a recount.

This week for Reading we were learning about 4 topics. Paragraph linking, Sentence structure, paragraph structure and organising ideas. Our group was doing Paragraph linking. Paragraph linking is when you join one paragraph with another paragraph that dosn't have that much ideas.
I linked the paragraph that they got tired with the next paragraph leading to Mount Fuji. I joined those two paragraphs together bewcause of the little ideas the second paragraph had. then I just cut off a little word off and added one word and inked the paragraphs together to make one paragraph that still makes sense.

First Boxing Session

This Term on this week was our First Boxing Session for the rest of the year (8 Weeks left). We first learnt our coaches name: Pax and she first taught us the rules of boxing. The rules are R.D.S which stands for Respect, Dissipline and Safetey. 

We were told that we arn't allowed to use these skills outside or even during our sessions because it can hurt someone and because of that you will get kicked out. So if it is a mistake we only get a burpie but the more mistakes the more burpies. 

Then we first started by learning how to put on the boxing gloves. First you get a pair of gloves then chose your boxing glove size and put it on tight as possible. Next we started off with Jab. Which is punching with our left hand. Next was Cross. 

Then Jab cross and lastly Jab Jab Cross our mix combo. Then we were learning our rock position which is legs together, arm sholder width apart. Right leg back and boxing gloves on face to protect your self. This was a really fun and cool session and can't wait for our next session already.

M.A.I.N: World War 1


L.I is to figure out what caused World War 1 by using M.A.I.N 
This week for inquiry we had to now complete another slide which was about MAIN. Main stands for: Militarism, Alliences, Inperialism and Nationalism. We had MR Ogilvie make a cheat sheet for us because it was hard but all we had to do is listen for information and copy and paste the right scentence in to the box. This was quite an easy activity.

Multiplacation Activity


L.i is to make an interactive activity about what you learnt
This week for maths we had another sign up. This time we were learning about Geometric shapes and the other group (My Group) were learning about hard Multiplacation over the 12 times tables. I made a slide DLO about what you have to do, Then I gave them some stratergies to use to solve the question, Lastly I gave them the question and with the answer on the box and when the figure out the answer then they have to remove the box to see if their answer is right. I think my slide is interactive and shows people how to solve multiplication over the 12 times tables. Conflict and Resolution: Painted Hoe


To analyse a story for its conflict and resolution.
This week for Reading we had to read the story about: Painted Hoe. It is about the Maori and the European fighting for land. It is also abput types of waka.

One of the waka is a small waka that just takes you to a place or just for food, another wakak is a medium so it can take you to another sland or country and the last waka is used for war so it can carry 100 - 200 people.


Maori: Parihaka

L.I is to research about Parihaka
This week at our Maori lession we first let Mrs Fire odi read us a book called: Remember that Nevember. It is about guy fawks when he tries to blow up someone and gets killed while attempting. Then we found out about Parihaka in taranaki and researched about it. It is where the maoris got arrested and is where the mountain is.

Smart Media (Completed)


L.I is to finish the smart media slide
This week for Cybersmart we had to finish off our smart media slide from last term a couple of weeks ago. We had to just answer the questions on the last three slides. They were about: Who made the cereal, What are gimmicks and what is the purpose of the cereal. It was about the coco crunch cereal and how it tricks people to buy it. This is the completed slide.

Multiplacation 1 - 12


L.I is to learn your Times Tales and blog about it
This week for our Multiplication or Division I had done my 1 - 12 timer tables. I now know most of my times tables but I just need to work on my 12 times because they are really hard to add and multiply when you are adding and multiplying 12 and 12.

L.I is to make an interactive activity about what you learnt
This wek for our maths we had to make an interactive activity about what you learnt. I signed up and decided to learn about Graphing. Graphing is about using information that you have to make something to show your information. I made a grapjh of pie graph. My method is TQADG which is: Topic, Questions and Answer, Data and Graph. I then I made a video that shows how to make a graph then it leads to where they make their graph and at the end si where they insert their graph to see if it is correct.

Conflict & Resolution (WW1)


L.I is to complete these two slides which are the information and time line
This week for Inquiry was to complete these two slides which is the information slide and the time line slide. We had to research: Centeral powers, Triple entente, Lusitania, Zimmerman Telegram, Treaty of versallies, 14 points and Leauge of nations. Next slide was a time line of wat happend in order of time.  

Sky Tower Test

L.I is to write a 40 minute recount about our sky tower trip
This week for our writing must do we had to write a 40 minute recount about the sky tower trip in test conditions. I wrote my story in 5 paragraphs. Then when we were done we had to look at our score for writing. My avarege score was T5. Next we scored other peoples ones and had to suggest mistakes in their writing then we had to go off and do it with our own work. I had 3 suggestions. 2 capital letters and an and in my work.

L.I is to make a poster to show the gimmicks in this cereal game
This week for our Cybersmart we had to play a game called: CoCo's AdverSmarts. It is a game that shows you a cereal. It is a real cereal that has been turned into a game for kids to play then the kids will think it is cool and buy the cereal. The Game is about finding 5 gimmicks. We had to find gimmicks in this game. A gimmick is something that makes people buy it. I found the first thing which is the: Theme, Second is the description, third is the character, fourth is an activity for them and last is a free prize. These are all the gimmicks in the game. This game isabout you trying to find 5 gimmicks.

Maori

This week for our first maori session for week 1 term 4 we were learning about the book called: In the beginning. We first read the story about in the beginning then we watched a video that tells us about the story. The story is about the 6 gods called: Tu, Tawhirimate, Rongo, Haurima, Tane and Tangaroa. Tu, Tawhirimate, Rongo, Haurima and Tangaroa all tried to split their farther and mother apart but they couldn't so Tane said hell do it and just laying on his back and pushing up with his legs he split them apart. We also sung a song that the people sung when the people came back from war. Then researched about the Rohe New Zealand and Trible areas of New Zealand. You Can see the site. Kiwi can WK1 T4


This week for our first Kiwi can Session for Term 4 we had a new teacher called: Mrs Page and she will be taking over for Mrs Lilly for this term and next year because Mrs lilly is having a baby but Mr Matt is still here. Our new Theme is Respect and our new topic is Our school. We First started off with out energiser called: Tag. 

We decided to play tag with no rules and then play with rules to see the diffrences between having rules and having no rules. So to play 1 person or more is in and they have to tag them. If you get tagged your out and the last person wins. We played tag with no rules first to see what it would feel like and it was a desaster people getting tagged and not going out. 

Next we played tag with rules and it was way more fun because it was a real challenge. People were getting out and pople that were last were fighting for the last one standing. After we had our energiser we started to lern about our topic, theme and talking about what they mean. Our topic is Our school and our theme is Respect. We were also talking about values. 

Our school values are: Confidince, Atitude, Respect Excellents and inivation. My values are: Games and PS4. But my most important value is my: Family and friends because they care about me and love me. Then we played our activity called: Respecting. We have to have a group of people and show how we respect one another. We tried but we just made it up. 

Last we had our GKQ (General Knowledge Questions). We were asking questions. I was not master and lost to karlos. We don't have points this session but nest session we start points. I can't wait for next week to go to kiwi can because I enjoy going to kiwi can and learning.

Wall Construction

Conflict and Resolution: Sparks

L.I is to analyse a story for its conflict and resolution
This week for reading we had to read a story called sparks. It is a about 2 boys called Harley and Dillon, Mum and dad. Dillon got a new scooter but harley wants a turn. 

Dad says no and is on DIllons side but mum is on none because she wants them both to have a turn. So we made a copy of this google drawing and had to write the characters, What side their on, The conflict, action, Other action and the Resolution. 

Dillon and dad are on the same side because dad says that Dillon should be on his own scooter because its his. Mum is nutral because shes on no ones. Harleys by his self. Then we had to write about the conflict of what happend in the fight. Then was the actions that lead to a Resolution.
