Yesterday at swimming we were learning how to breath when your in the water and we were practicing our streamline and free style. We first made our safe entry into the pool and started off with our stream line. Next we did free style back to the start. Then we used the kick boards to swim to the end and back. We then practiced how to breath in the water, but I wasn't able to do this because I strugle on going to my side and getting my head out of the water so that I can breath. This session was great and now I look forward so going there agin and try to breath in the water next time.

Swimming Session 2

This week for swimming we were learning about the different types of swimming styles. In this class we learned about stream line, dolphin diving, breast stroke and backward swimming. We first started with the stream line. I wasn't good at that because I can't hold my breath for long and I don't know how to breath when I am under water. Next we did the free style (Any swimming style). Then we did the dolphin diving and then the pencil dive. I had a wonderful time there and can't wait to go back becuse I am excited for what we are going to learn next.

Last Swimming Session

This week was our wals week of swimming. We started off with our sequence which was 5 things that we learnt. My sequence was: Streme line, free style, sculling and back floating. Most people forgot to make a sequence so our instructor made one for us. It was: mushroom float, T, Streme line and Free style. I forgot it so our preffesional swimmer who use to do swimming lessons: Matthew went first so I knew what to do. Next was to free style to the end, Treat water for 30 seconds then free style back. Last we had to dolphin dive to the end of the pool and high five our instructor and thank them for our last session.

Swimming WK 9

This week for kiwi sport we were doing: Sculling for 3 mins and treating water for 3 mins. We first started off with the board doing streamline. We had to kick with our board straight with our head in the water. Then we tried it with no board and it was easy.

Next we had a challenge to do and it was to try to scull in the water for 3 mins. It was kind of hard because my legs and arms were hurting from the power I was using with my body. After that we had another challenge which was treating water for 3 mins. It was harder than sculling for 3 mins because we have to move our arms opposite and move our legs opposite. It was hard because we had to not touch the floor. Some people had to use the noodles because they couldn't keep their legs up.

Lastly was a sequence. We had to think of 5 things to do to get to the platform and back. We all taught it was to hard so our instructor said that we only had to choose 4 to do. I came up with: Stream line, sculling, floating and Free style to there. Then we did it but back to where we started.

The last thing we did was to listen to our instructor to give us her to give us 4 things to do which was: Mushroom float, T, stream line and Free style. This weeks swimming session was great because of the sequence of doing 4 things there and back.

How to put a Life Jacket on:

L.I is to learn how to use a Life jacket
This week for Swimming we learnt how to use a Life Jacket. We first listened to the Instructors so the could tell us how to put on a Life Jacket. When we had put life jackets on we learnt how to do the safe entry with a Life Jacket. First we have to put one hand on our Life Jacket then one more hand to cover our mouth ad nose. After we jump in the water with one leg and into the water. Then we did it again. After that we practiced how to get warm if you are in the water. If there are two people you have to hug each other to get the warmth. If there is one person you have to hug yourself to get warm and if there are more than 2 people you have to all get int a circle and your both hands have to go on the right and the left person to keep you and them warm. Lastly we Learnt how to treat water. We first have to make circles with our legs going the o posit way as the other way and keep doing it then go slow when your tired. This week for Swimming so far was the best swimming.

Swimming WK5

This week, Week 5 we went to swimming this Thursday. We didn't have actual swimming because we were learning and practicing how to save someone when they are drowning. I had to get into partners which my partner was Juel. Juel was getting the noodle to pull me out of the water. Never go close to someone because they might go and grab you on top of you and drown you because they want air. That was the lesson for this weeks swimming lesson.

Swimming WK 3

This week for kiwi sport/ Swimming we were learning about back stroke & Head up while swimming. It was quite easy tho because I was a quick learner. YMCA teaches people how to swim and water safeties when you are in the water. I have been to a different swimming class in a different suburb in Auckland. That's why I went strait to Level 3. We also learned about the differences between Hypothermia & Hypermedia. Hypothermia is when the temperature is cold and you start to shiver. Hypermedia is when you get to Hot.
But the one thing you shouldn't do is make your self go from one temperature t the other too fast because your heart will get a shock of the new temperature and Stop pumping and you'll die. So the easiest way to make someone recover is to if your cold get something warm at first to make them cold to warm slowly and the same as hot get some ice and a cold shower after to calm yourself with the water then you can warm yourself up again. That's all I have for you today and thanks for viewing me blog.

Swimming: Session 1

This Term for kiwi sport we had swimming. We went on the bus from our school to the Panmure pools at the back. We had not that much time so we ran inside and got changed ready for our session. Mrs Nell asked us some questions about who is good at what. I was good at going under water, I wasn't good at holding breath under water for 1 min so I went to Level 2. Level 1 was learning to hold breath under water. Level 2 which is my group we learnt how to dive and much more. The Level 3 group which was the professional group.
Carmen was Level 3, James Level 2 and Nell level 1. They were learning the hard stuff like jump, Dive and swim to shore. I was still in Level 2 because I need to work on my back stroke but next time the guy said I can go straight to Level 3 which only 5 people are in including me. We had fun and now I am ready and waiting for my next session.
