Day 2: Activity 3

CACTI PROBLEM: You have to keep a Cacti / Cactus alive by giving it 3ml of water everyday. How many ml of water do yo need to feed a cacti / cactus for a whole year?

CACTI ANSWER: 1095ml Because there are 365 days in a year. If you times 365 x 3ml that gives you the answer of 1095ml.

    How did you manage to solve it? What strategy did you use?

    I broke 365 down into 300, 60 and 5. Then I multiplied each of the three numbers by 3.

    This gave me 900, 180 and 15.

    After that, all you have to do is add them together.

    So how much water would a cactus need over the course of 15 years?

    Good job on getting the math problem correct. I got the same answer. I like how you have added cacti problem and cacti answer. Have you ever touched cacti?

    Great job on completing this activity! I liked how you explained your answer and the process for getting it really clearly. I also liked how you explained what you needed to do for this task well. Now that you know how much water it takes for a cactus, would you want to have one?
