Giovanni Design Evaluation

L.I to create a christmas decoration

These past 3 weeks, we have been learning and designing a christmas design for the schools christmas tree. We first found designs we liked, for an example christmas presents, and put them on a google drawing so we had a rough idea of what we were going to make. We next drew them on a planner on a peice of paper, to see if it was in the measurment of the clients acpected measurment. We then practiced stitching by stitching a game of knots and crosses. This helped us gain knowledge of stitching, so we know what to do when we stitch our designs. Lastly we drew our designs on the felt, cut it our, and swewd it together and put stuffing (cotton) inside it. This was fun and cool because I love learning how to do new things, and something I would change is the equipment used to cut out the felt, becuse the felt was a hard material.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
List three positives about your product and three possible improvements in the table below to help you reflect on your decoration design.

Positives
Improvements
Using traditional colours
Make stitching smaller
Adding effects
Make edges sharper
Easy to handle
Make design bigger

What would you say are the strengths of your product? The strengths of my product was the look, and the feeling of the design (the cotton).

Does your product meet your original criteria? yes How? By following the specifications ( 3D effects, 10cm)

Did you change anything during the making process? yes What? Added extra 3D effects to the design.

Was it hard to make? yes Why/ why not? It was difficult cutting shapes from the felt

Are you pleased with your finished product? Why? Yes, because we did a good job, and it looks amazing in the end (Looks just like the expected design).

What would you do differently next time? Use a different equipment for cutting out the shapes out from the felt, because the felt was a hard material to cut.

Plastic Bag - Explanation Self And Buddy Evaluation

Giovanni
Self and Buddy Evaluation:

Plastic Bag - Explanation
Are you aware that if you are wasting single use plastic bags then
you are harming our environment. This is true, scientists predict in
2050 there will be more plastic in our ocean than fish.

Plastic bags are going into our oceans causing our sea creatures to
most likely die. There are sea creatures right now that are getting
harmed by plastic such as sea turtles and jellyfish. There are over
100 sea creatures that are harmed by plastic. Did you know that the
most harmed sea creature by plastic is a sea turtle. More than 1 million
sea turtles are harmed by plastic.

It is not only our oceans that are getting harmed, but also our
land. If you put your rubbish in plastic bags then the rubbish you
put in there goes to the landfill. The landfill is a random place
big enough to dump rubbish. Our rubbish could be as big as 27,000
jumbo jets or as big as Eden Park Stadium full of rubbish up to 1 km
(kilometer) high.

There could be a solution to stop plastic bags from going to our oceans
and our lands. We could start using reusable bags or we could keep using
our plastic bags over and over again. Nothing is wrong with single use plastic
bags. You could use them more than 100 times to reduce the amount of plastic
bags being wasted.

This is why we should start using reusable bags or keep using our old plastic bags.

This blogpost is about our writing sample. We wrote an explanation for our writing sample so we can see what we know and don't know.
