Giovanni Design Evaluation

L.I to create a christmas decoration

These past 3 weeks, we have been learning and designing a christmas design for the schools christmas tree. We first found designs we liked, for an example christmas presents, and put them on a google drawing so we had a rough idea of what we were going to make. We next drew them on a planner on a peice of paper, to see if it was in the measurment of the clients acpected measurment. We then practiced stitching by stitching a game of knots and crosses. This helped us gain knowledge of stitching, so we know what to do when we stitch our designs. Lastly we drew our designs on the felt, cut it our, and swewd it together and put stuffing (cotton) inside it. This was fun and cool because I love learning how to do new things, and something I would change is the equipment used to cut out the felt, becuse the felt was a hard material.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
List three positives about your product and three possible improvements in the table below to help you reflect on your decoration design.

Positives
Improvements
Using traditional colours
Make stitching smaller
Adding effects
Make edges sharper
Easy to handle
Make design bigger

What would you say are the strengths of your product? The strengths of my product was the look, and the feeling of the design (the cotton).

Does your product meet your original criteria? yes How? By following the specifications ( 3D effects, 10cm)

Did you change anything during the making process? yes What? Added extra 3D effects to the design.

Was it hard to make? yes Why/ why not? It was difficult cutting shapes from the felt

Are you pleased with your finished product? Why? Yes, because we did a good job, and it looks amazing in the end (Looks just like the expected design).

What would you do differently next time? Use a different equipment for cutting out the shapes out from the felt, because the felt was a hard material to cut.

Tech Week 10

Today at Tech we were focusing on finishing our card game design. I chsnged my mind and wanted to make the board game snakes and ladders because I found that cooler. When we were finished Mrs Ferguson asked us to look at a projecter on the white board to show us how to make a pacman, banana or a moon looking the same by just using 3 cylinders. Next we made a 2 cylinder shape with our first name and last name initials on it. Then we had our challenge to make our teacher (Mrs Anderson) by using shapes only. Lastly it was almost time to go and I got up to making the upper body by using a cone or a square. This week at Tech was fun because I got to make a person with shapes on tinkercad.com and because I finished making my card game design (Snakes and Ladders).

Tech Session 2

Today was our (Year 7s) 2nd session in Mrs Ferguson's Art class. We were learning about shapes, tones and 3d shapes. We first finished our toys that make us think DLO. Next we got a peice of paper, pencil and a ruler. Then we used our pencil to find 3 shades from it. Mrs Ferguson explained that the tone depends on how much you press on the pencil or color you are using. After that we drew a 3d cube. Then we used the light, medium and hard shades to fill in each side (3 sides which was enough for 1 each). If we could do that we could carry on with the next part which we could use a color to shade light, medium and hard to see the next out come. Lastly it was time to go. So we thanked Mrs Ferguson and ran to the bus in the cold wet weather which was quite funny.
