Firestation Visit
Today this Monday walked from school to the M.T wellington fire station. When we arrived there we sat down in the firetruck garage and the firefighters introduced their self's to us then talked about them and told us how old they were, where they came from and how long they have been a firefighter for. After that we walked out side and sat on the floor and sat on the wood. The firefighters talked about how long they do their training and then talked about the amount of money their gear coast.
Then they talked about their firetruck. We all gazed when we saw it I was excited too to see a firetruck while sitting down AT a fire station WITH firefighters. First before they do and show all of us about the firetruck they showed us about their firefighter truck and fully dressed up. I was so amazed at seeing a firefighter fully dressed up in his uniform because I have never seen a firefighter fully dressed up in his uniform for real life only on TV.
Finally the last part was the firefighter showing his firetruck and then all of us walked around it and then the firefighters talked about the firetruck. I was surprised myself seeing the firetruck but still it was pretty cool seeing one. After that we went back and sat down and then the firefighters talked about their hoses that MR Ogilvie chose 4 people to go and have a turn to hold the hose. It was cool seeing kids from our school and our CLASS hold a firefighters hose. After that we watched MR Ogilvie hold the hose but he was squirting the training building. Then we were all ready too see the BIG cannon water hose witch was the big water hydrant looking thing on the firetruck and started to SQUIRT IT HIGH it was so cool but after that we had to go so all of us said Bye and thanked them for letting us go there to the fire station. Then all of us got ready then we walked back to class silently but when we were walking back we heard the fire truck turning their alarms on which was telling me that they were saying bye back to us. It was very exciting and fun watching the firefighters I hope we go there again or go somewhere like the pragmatics.
