Area & Parameter



                               
L.I to to investigate the difference between area and parameter
This week fro maths we had to watch 2 videos from math antics to find the difference between Area and Parameter. First we made a glossary for the meanings of those words we learnt from the videos and we made a copy of the area and parameter sheet and filled it in. We had to figure out the Area of the shape and the Parameter. The difference between Area and Parameter is that area is how much of something you can fit inside the shape and parameter is figuring out the measurement of the shape.

Mahishasura & Durga


L.I is to get information about the topic
This week for reading we had to make a DLO about 4 types of mythical stories. I chose Mahishasura & Durga. About two demons who fight each other but one of them survives and cuts the other ones head off and wins the fight. You can look at the story on this slide and you can also see the purpose of the story.

Exposition Writing

L.I is to highlight every infinite tense, Emotive words and Cause words
This week for writing we had to make a copy of this document and find and highlight the Infinitive tense, Emote words/Device and Cause and effect words. I had more red words, yellow words were middle and I had least blue words. This was an easy piece of work.

Inquiry: Cannons Technology















This week for Inquiry we made a new Technology. We chose: Cannons because we wanted to destroy the enemies and their base. We made another presentation about our new technology. We are starting to make a warfare game with lots of old technology. We had videos and pictures.

Keyboarding Practice


L.I is to learn how to type  
This week for the Key/Hand I did Typing Practice. I have the speed of 33. This is good for typing fast when you need to do work fast before something happens then you can finish. I am also fast at speed typing when it comes to typing. Here is the link to typing practice: TYPING PRACTICE.

Multiplication Times Tables 1 - 12


L.I is to learn your Times Tales and blog about it
This week for our Multiplication or Division I had done my 1 - 12 timer tables. I now know most of my times tables but I just need to work on my 12 times because they are really hard to add and multiply when you are adding and multiplying 12 and 12.

L.I is to learn how to use a Life jacket
This week for Swimming we learnt how to use a Life Jacket. We first listened to the Instructors so the could tell us how to put on a Life Jacket. When we had put life jackets on we learnt how to do the safe entry with a Life Jacket. First we have to put one hand on our Life Jacket then one more hand to cover our mouth ad nose. After we jump in the water with one leg and into the water. Then we did it again. After that we practiced how to get warm if you are in the water. If there are two people you have to hug each other to get the warmth. If there is one person you have to hug yourself to get warm and if there are more than 2 people you have to all get int a circle and your both hands have to go on the right and the left person to keep you and them warm. Lastly we Learnt how to treat water. We first have to make circles with our legs going the o posit way as the other way and keep doing it then go slow when your tired. This week for Swimming so far was the best swimming.

Kiwi can WK6



L.I is to ask for help when you need it
This week for Kiwi can we were learning about Problem solving. We first started off with a game called: Hoop De Hoop. It is a game where you get in a line with two teams then you run to the other team and when you get close to them you have to do Rock, paper succors shoot. Who ever wins they keep running then the loser goes to the back of the line. I wasn't here for the learning because I went to the nurse. But I came back just in time so they could start the activity called: Mat Dodge-ball. You have to get into groups 1 - 5 and 1 stand up or any number then they have t dodge the ball while the people in the circle have to get them out. Lastly we had a GKQ and I won. Our points system were over the limit of good we got 25/25. 5 For team work, 5 for Respect, 5 for resilience and 5 for participation. This week at Kiwi can was fun.

Sunset/Sunrise & Structure: Silhouette Art


Today MR Wong said we were going to do art. We were learning about a piece of art called: Silhouette. It it has warm and cool colors. I made the city: Dubai which has the tallest building in the world. The tallest building in the world is called: The Burj Khalifa. Which is located in Dubai which I used as my Silhouette. I had shapes which is in the sky. I had a blue square, Sun with red lines next to it. 2 yellow circles, 1 blue triangle and 1 yellow circle, Another strip of red and other shapes with different colors. This was a fun thing to do because I liked art and I like to do art in my free time.

This week fro writing we had to make a google doc about how to make a 3D shape in procedural writing. I made a 3D Square Pyramid. I had 7 instructions and pictures of the instructions. This activity had been fun.



Trenches: Combat & Warfare


L.I is to make a presentation for your Technology
This week fro inquiry we got split into 2 groups. I was in MR Wong's groups and he was doing: Combat And Warfare. We were learning about: Trenches, Hill fort and Rampart. Our group: Karlos, Lorenzo, Sione. T and me chose: Trenches because that was the most interesting thing we chose. We had 4 slides about trenches: What is our Technology, 2 Examples of your Technology, Where and the name of the location it was built and Where was it built. We weren't able to make our game so we decided to blog our Slide that we did.

Typing Practice

L.I is to learn how to type

Tables Conga: Multiplication


This week from my Multiplication/Division I did Tables conga. I had got a certificate for completing all my 9 times tables 1 - 12. Here is the link to tables conga: TABLES CONGA. This is a game that teaches you how to learn your 1 - 9 times tables. Now I just need to learn my 12 times tables. You can also use the: TRANSUM. Site to look at other maths. This is a great maths site to learn new skills.

Swimming WK5

This week, Week 5 we went to swimming this Thursday. We didn't have actual swimming because we were learning and practicing how to save someone when they are drowning. I had to get into partners which my partner was Juel. Juel was getting the noodle to pull me out of the water. Never go close to someone because they might go and grab you on top of you and drown you because they want air. That was the lesson for this weeks swimming lesson.

Degrees

This week for maths we had a piece of paper that we had to answer. It had degrees on it and we had to try and figure out the degrees it was using a Protractor. We had 8/8 answers right. I was working with: Alice. She knew how to use a Protractor and taught me how to use it so we can both work out the answer to the degree. The easiest degree is the straight up which was the 90 degree angle which was easy. Here is a photo of our work:

Sky Tower Trip



This week Tuesday we went to the Sky Tower. It was fun because we got to watch a video and go to the level 44 45 & 46 which is refuge level for the safety and level 51 which is the top. The sky tower is half as tall as the Burj Khalifa which has 102 levels and the Sky Tower has 51 levels. It was built in 1997 which was meant for communication because the mountains and volcanoes were too tall and it coasted them: 72,000,000 dollars to build the Sky tower. This week for writing we had to make a google drawing about showing the Meaning of Procedural writing and The Structures and Language Features of it. I had Procedural writing meaning and Structure and Language Features. I also talked about TEMPS which stands for Title, End Result, Materials, Pictures and Steps. Maui DLO

This week for reading we had to write in the explanation of the lesson Maui teaches us and the LS1 story. It was relay easy because of the amount of work I had done. This is a big improvement.

This week for kiwi sport we had our 3rd swimming lesson. We first talked about currents then we swam. We had fun.

This week for Inquiry was to make a google map showing 5 - 10 bridges on it. I had done 8 of my favorite bridges and they were mostly in United States of America. It was pretty hard because of the clicking and dragging. I had done number 1 is golden gate bridge. You can look above ^ to see the google maps. This is a cool activity to do.

Tengu Questions


L.I is to make a slide about Tengu stories and tell us about the lesson Tengu teaches us
This week for Reading we had to make a google slide of the tengu story you found that are different to the LS1 story because the LS1 story is: Long ago, a man wandering through a forest in Japan came upon a long-nosed, magical goblin called a tengu. Eventually, the tengu agreed to teach the man ninjitsu, a kind of magic. Using ninjitsu, the man could now turn invisible, swim underwater for hours or run as fast as a horse--just by uttering a few words. But the man was arrogant and soon began abusing his powers, using them to steal from travelers and sometimes even to kill them. One day as he was passing through the mountains, the man came upon a farmer walking slowly along the path. The man was impatient and would not wait for the farmer to move out of his way. He drew his sword and swung at the farmer's neck. But his sword never found its mark. Looking down, the man saw that his sword was broken. Looking up, he saw the farmer sitting in a tree laughing. The farmer was actually a tengu in disguise. Try as he might, the man could never perform ninjutsu again and was soon caught and punished. That is the LS1 story and remember there is a consequence.

Narrative Plan

L.I is to write a plan about a narrative in 40 Minutes
This week for writing we had to write a narrative planer in 40 minutes using a picture of your choice. I was writing a narrative about he robot picture. I had the Idea about having a title called: Saving the world. I wrote about a boy finding the robot and him getting a fight and saving the world from the most scary villain in the world. I had just enough time to complete this 40 min narrative. For this to be completed I had to write the Orientation, Problem, 4 events and the solution. This is a normal activity for me.


This vs That: Bridges




























L.I is to: Compare and contrast Panmure Bridge to a Local equivalent
Another L.I is to: Compare and Contrast Panmure Bridge to an international equivalent
This week for inquiry we had to make 3 copies of 3 slides which was to Compare 1 slide which was Panmure bridge & Auckland Harbor bridge. Next was to compare the Panmure bridge with another bridge within new Zealand. And lastly was to make a slide with the Panmure bridge with another bridge in a different country And ours was the Golden Gate Bridge. This is the work for structure this week.

Swimming WK 3

This week for kiwi sport/ Swimming we were learning about back stroke & Head up while swimming. It was quite easy tho because I was a quick learner. YMCA teaches people how to swim and water safeties when you are in the water. I have been to a different swimming class in a different suburb in Auckland. That's why I went strait to Level 3. We also learned about the differences between Hypothermia & Hypermedia. Hypothermia is when the temperature is cold and you start to shiver. Hypermedia is when you get to Hot.
But the one thing you shouldn't do is make your self go from one temperature t the other too fast because your heart will get a shock of the new temperature and Stop pumping and you'll die. So the easiest way to make someone recover is to if your cold get something warm at first to make them cold to warm slowly and the same as hot get some ice and a cold shower after to calm yourself with the water then you can warm yourself up again. 3D Shapes


L.I is to make a slide with 3 3D shapes you had made.
This week fro maths we had to make 3 3D shapes with Tooth picks and blue tack. The 3 3D shaped I made was a Rectangular Prism, a Pyramid and a Diamond/Rhombus. I also had at the end the Faces, Edges and Vertices. The Rectangular Prism had 6 Faces, 8 Edges and 8 Vertices. The Pyramid had 4 faces, 4 Edges and 7 Vertices. Lastly the Diamond had 6 faces, 8 edges and 6 vertices. I also had to write a blurb about what the shape is about, what shape it is and and explanation about the shape. This was an easy piece of work.

Media

LI: to identify the purpose of information presented in media and to understand that media is made for a purpose This week for Cyber smart we were continuing on with Media. So this week for Cyber smart we all talked about how the Media portrays who we are. So we got two photos of ourselves. One was appropriate for school and the other one was appropriate for our family and friends. We had to portray each of those photo. After that we made a Word Cloud to portray us.

This week for writing we first on Monday and Tuesday we made a plan on coggle and the back word S. We did the Coggle brain storm on monday and we did the back word S on Tuesday. Then we had to wait for our last writing session which is today Thursday to see what we have to write for our blog post. Now our blog post is to write now blog the 2 plans/Brain storms we did on Monday and Tuesday and put the blurb And lastly we have to put the link to your fully writ in narrative

Panmure Bridge


LI : This week for inquiry we learned about structures.

 This week for inquiry we learned about structures. First we had to get into 3 groups and my group was Giovanni, Akuhata and me and after we found our 3 groups we went on our Chromebook and then Giovanni send me the slide and for this slide we had to put 5 or 6 images and we had to put Panmure Bridge photo and then after we did the images we did changes and changes is like when something changes and then after we did changes we did impact and impact is like when how people live in this area and then after did impact we did future and future is means like a period of time following the moment of speaking or writing time regarded as still to come and the after we did future we had to blog it and then put it in the LS1 must do.

Swimming WK 2

This week for kiwi sport we had our 2nd session for swimming. I was starting at lvl 2 as always but then I was surprised because I was doing perfect arm strokes then I got told to move to the Top level which is lvl 3. I was very happy but Level 3 was quite easy. We were learning to go dive under and then go up and start to stroke. We had fun doing this. I hope that I stay in level 3 for the rest of our swimming sessions. I was so happy I wanted to cry but I didn't so I just tried to stay calm and do my best to stay at lvl 3. I enjoined that.

Kiwi Can




L.I is to never give up, A chive your goals and try your best
This week Wednesday we went to kiwi can for our 2nd session. We first played an energizer called SNATCH. Where you have 1 rip and take other peoples rips. Next we talked about what our theme and topic is. Our topic is Integrity and our Theme is Goal setting. After that we had our Activity which is BALL GOAL. You have to get the ball to the other side and back with a partner but we did boy & Girl. Last we did our Points. We had 4,5,5,5 & 5. We had 24/25 all together. We enjoyed Kiwi can.

Word Art & Word Cloud



L.I to identify the purpose of the information presented in media.
This week for Cybersmart was to understand the purpose of media. We had to make a slide about media which was Smart media: Media is a construction. We had to First we had to watch the video of Media then we had to take 2 photos. 1 for a school photo and 1 for a family photo. Next we had to Make 2 word arts/Clouds about: Family/Friends & School. I had a picture of a Bat flying with words about school and I had a photo of a rocket ship & Words about friends and family. It was really easy for me because me and Sione T were the only ones that had showed this word art/Cloud and blogged it which i have blogged already. This was fun for me because I got to write words in 2 pictures and mess around with the font and color.
