Summer Learning Journey Nano Girl Challenge

L.I To collect materials needed to successfully complete our weekly superpower building missions with Nano Girl.

This morning LS2 worked in groups with our Year 4 students to help them create their first Summer Learning Journey blog posts. PBS are still at school this week so finding some of the materials we needed for our treasure hunt was easy. Our challenge is going to be able to find all the materials we need at home now. Something I found this activity fun because I got to find materials. I am looking forward to being able to blog at home during the holidays. What would you use instead of a paper towel roll?

  1. Kia Ora Giovanni,
My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey, it is awesome to see your first post of the summer and I look forward to seeing more as you continue blogging! I think this post is great, I like that you included a video showing your collection of items and including a voice over explaining what you were doing and why, the description you included is great as you covered what the activity is and what you enjoyed about it and included a question. I think it is nice that you worked with younger students, what did you do to help them with their first post? Did work with them to find your materials or did you help them write their post? I would love to know?

One suggestion I would make to step up your post would be to work on your presentation, slowing down the speed of your talking and moving into a quieter area if possible to lessen the background noise. In regards to your questions, instead of using a paper towel roll I think I would make my own roll by rolling up thick or thin cardboard and sellotape it together.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

  2. Hey Lukah, Riley, Giovanni, Max, Azatulah, Karlos and your room 5 partners,

I’m Daniel from the SLJ Blog commenting team. I’m looking forward to seeing all your amazing blog posts and I hope you’re enjoying your summer.

That’s awesome to see you school is getting the younger and older students together to help each other through the task. I see you’ve got lots of useful equipment there to help you out with the future tasks from Nanogirl.

We’ve had a sneak peek at the challenges Nanogirl has in store for you and they look really exciting, I’m looking forward to seeing how you guy’s tackle the challenges ahead.

I couldn’t see if Max was registered for the SLJ and I don't know who your room 5 partners were so I can’t send them this comment. Please share this with them if you can and maybe ask if they’d like to register for the SLJ challenges this summer too.

Everyone who participates will receive a certificate and a digital badge for their blog and there are some great prizes up for grabs for our most active bloggers. It's also a lot of fun! You can register here.

    Great stuff Team.
See you later in the comments.

    Daniel
