Addition DLO (Video)

L.I is to create a DLO showing the stratergy choosen
This week for maths we had to make another DLO, but for our next maths stratergy. This stratergy was addition, but this week was a bit hard because Mr Ogilvie said we have to add the algorithm to my stratergy so I chose addition because the algorithm of addition is HTO which is basicly Place value. I made a video first explaining the meaning of addition then the algorithm. The video is a 1m video and will show you the basics of addition. This was an easy activity and can't wait to do the animation for next week.

What is peace?

L.I To explore some definitions of peace.
L.I To investigate and recognize characteristics, actions and symbols of peaceful activists.
L.I To begin to determine ways to incorporate peace into the classroom environment and the world around them.

This week for inquiry we were learning about peace. We then had to complete this slide about what is peace? We had to look through 8 images and write 3 or more words that describe each picture. We then have to discuss with oru group how each picture makes you feel and had to prepare to share with the class.

We first split our group of 5 (Me, Liletina, Farzana, Lorenzo and Akuhata) into 3 and 2. Farzana, Lorenzo and Liletina were one group and Me and Akuhata were one group.

We then had to look through the 8 slides and write 3 words Me and Akuhata felt and agreed on about the picture we chose. We chose Confident, Freedom and Proud for the first picture beccause we though if we were those people we would think that they would be feeling this.

Next we had to write a scentence using the 3 words from the picture. An example from the second picture is: The boy and girl were angry at each other. I used the words from the picture described and made a scentence that well describes the picture even more.

Last we had to make a poster from what you think peace is. I wrote 4 boxes that best describes peace. One of my boxes says that everyone should have an equal amount of shelter, water and food no matter the gender or identity.

Reflection: I really enjoyed this activity because I got to learn new things, but also because I got to make a poster which is my favorite.

Web Surfing

L.I to recall how to surf the internet Safely.
This week at cbersmart we were learning about web surfing. An example of web surfing is not sending personal information to strangers which are people you don't know. Web surfing is basicly avoiding bad things. I have made a google form quiz which you can try out. It is about web surfing. You have to get the answers right. SSR Selfie (Bugs and Insects)

L.I is to write about a book you read
This week on ssr selfie I read a book called Bugs and insects. It's about basicly facts aboiut bugs and insects. This is a good peice of learning and helps me iprove in my reading.

Inferring

L.I is to infer thoughts and emotions.
This week for reading we were learning more about inferring. Inferring is something the author hasn't put in the story, but you can do. I did 4 inferrences from the movie for the birds from pixar and had to make 3 or more infferences for each of your slides. This was quite an easy activity, but still some work put into it.

This week for commenting I commented on Lukah's blog post about addition. He made an addition poster which shows and explains what addition is.

In the comment I stater off with a greeting in french Bonjour which means Good Day or Hello. Then I lead on with a connection which I have about the poster. Lukah has an addition poster and I made a multiplication poster.

Next I made a positive sentence telling him that I hope this was a great inprovement and he gets to a higher level in maths.

Last I gave him an ending telling him to make sure he keeps up the great work.

Tense

LI:To learn about the three  tenses.

This week we learned about the three tenses witch are simple past, continuous present, and simple Future.For this task we had to make a google slide get twenty verbs that we have to  show in a  video either for the simple past, continuous present, or simple Future. We had to work with a partner. I worked with Giovanni. If we want to talk about the  simple past we have to use the ed/d to any word but some you don't need to use it for. For the continuous present we had add ing to it. For the simple future we had to use will.

What Can You Tell

This week for reading we were learning to infer. Inferring is looking at something or reading something and making a predction. We then had to make a slide of what can you tell fromthe photo and infer from that photo.

Trench Warfare

L.I to explain what trench warefare is

This week for inquiry we were learning about trench warefare. We also researched and have each other information about things in the trench and what the soldiers used in the trench. There was a main reason for trench warefare and that was No Mans Land because no one went on the land and because there were barbed wire and mines hiding in the ground. 

Maori Fruit DLO

L.I is to make a DLO showing the fruit and the maori name 
This at maori we first watched a Video about how maui pulled up the north island from his magic hook. Then went to show his mother but on the way crashed his waka which made the south island.

Subtraction DLO

This week for maths we had to go on a sheet which we had to choose what strategy we were going to make a DLO for. We had four choices from Poster, Slides, Animation and Video, but we had to choose which one we're going to do subtraction, addition, division and multiplacation on. Im doing poster for multiplacation, slides for subtraction (Current DLO), Animation for addition and video for division. L.I is to comment something positive on someones blog

This week I have commented on Andrews blog. He has blogged about Statistics which has to do with maths. I told him that he has done a great job and just told him to add one image to his post to make it more interesting. This time I made a positive comment that he has done a great amount of work.

Mounted Art

This week I finished my art. Our art were 3 quatrefoil arts. They were based on Max Gimblett, Armistice and Christmas. I have my art work now mounted up on the wall and is well put in to. I have my 3 quatrefoils layed out and my name lable on the bottom right and my writing about why I chose the colors and patterns. This art was well put into and I like the outcome of my work. This was a cool 2 week activiy and I want to do another art activity.

Boxing WK 5

This week at kiwispot we were learnig new combos. We learnt Jab, Cross, left, hooks, right, hooks, left uppucut and right uppucut. We hsd 6 burpies because our group (Group B) were being naughty and not listening. We had fuin thdi week at boxing and also can't wait for next week.

Paikea

This week at our maori lesson we were learning Paikea. Then we had to make a drawing with different things from paikea. I used: A whale, New Zealand, Ngati Purou logo and the whale carving from the Whangara. These are thigns about Paikea.

What Is Rhyming

L.I to explain about what Rhyming is and the types of rhyming
This week we were learning abiut rhyming. Rhyming is having the sme sounds in most words. Rhyming has 4 different types. End Rhyming, Assonance, Alliteration and Consonance. They all have something the same but mostly different meanings. This is what rhyming is.

Author study

L.I is to learn about Dr Seuss
This week fo our Class learning while other half of the class went ot otuch we were learning abiut Dr Seuss and his books. His real name is Theador Seuss Geisel and was born in springfield, massachusetts, united states. His first published strory was called: And to think I saw it on mulburry street. It was published in 1937. Most of his stories are mostly comedy and rhymes but kids and some people read them. For an example on of his books would be the Lorax or green eggs and ham. He sadly died on the 24th of september 1991. This is all the learning we have been learning about from Dr Seuss.

Manaiakalani Film Festival Trip

This week Wednesday Panmure Bridge School and other schools around our cluster went to the Manaiakalani Film Festival this year (2018). Our schools made 5 movies. Our classes movie was called A bit dicey which was a kung fu movie 3 minutes 53 seconds long. We went by bus to sylvia park.

L.I is to comment on one of the movies you saw at the film festival
This week Wednesday we went to the film festival for 2018. We were watching movies that schools made for other students to enjoy and watch. Our classes movie was called: A bit dicey which was a kung fu movie. They were having a challenge about playing a game a bit dicey and when they said they cheated then got into a kung fu fight and our principle Mr Johnson growled them. I had commented on their movie and said that it was a great movie and said to keep up the good work and keep trying your best. This I think from my perspective is the best movie I saw from the film festival for 2018.

Art

L.I is to make 3 peices of art
Today after we finished our max gimblett slide we first had to try to create our own quatrefoil digitaly. After we had done our art work digitaly we got to have a go at trying to create our own quatrefoil. We had to make 3 quatrefoils and in different sizes. We had to make a Max GImblett style of art which was the big one. Next was the medium size one which was a poppy or armiscice quatrefoil and last was the small quatrefoil and that was our christmas quatrefoil. The max gimblett style was in paint, the armisice one was in pastle and the christmas one was in colored pencils. They all had to be in this order of equipment. Now that I have finished you can see my 3 peices of art. These peices of art I hvae been working hard on and it is worth the hard work.

Armistice Remembrence

LI:Is to find information about ammistice remembrance.
I was learning about armistice day and we had to work with a partner and my one was Giovvani. we  were learning about what happened and like why is the last post played like those questions and those people who lost their lives just so we could have peace.

Max GImblett Art DLO

This week was a fun inquiry week because we would be doing art after our blog post DLO. We had to complete first information about: Max Gimblett. He is a famouse New Zealand Artist. Then we had to learn about quatre foils which max gimblett uses most for his art. Next for the fun part we got to create 3 peices of art. 1 Was poppy, 2nd was christmas and last was max gimblett style, but we had to make them in paint, pastle and color pencils. So this week was fun.

Evaluating

L.I is to evaluate righting samples using the PBS WRITING RUBRIC

This week for writing we had to evaluate our writing samples from our writing test using structure and language by looking at the PBS WRITING RUBRIC. This was a 40 min test work and was worth the typing. I had done 5 evaluating highlights from structure and language and am almost done the whole work. This was a hard activity but was also easy to.

Boxing Week 2

L.I is to learn the dissipline of boxing

L.I is to learn self defense and exersise and footwork
This week at boxing we learnt some new skills. We learnt a new combo to which was: Jab, Cross, Left hook, Right hook, Left uppercut, Right uppercut. That is what pax usally uses. We started offf with our rock position as usuall which we use to keep our selfs safe. Then we learnt how to move around in boxing if your are stuck and surrounded. If forward you have to puch off with your back leg and go forward same as backward but push from front leg and land on back leg. Then was the combo which Iv'e already talked about. Then that was it four our week 2's session.

Battles And New Wepons Of World War 1

L.I to completw the two slides of New weopns in world war 1 and battles of world war 1

This week for Me and spelmans Inquiry must do was to complete the New wepons of World War 1 because we havn't finished it. Then next was the Battle of World War 1. When we finished the New wepons of World War 1 we got on to Battles of World War 1. It was a time line. The time line was 1914 - 1919. It was what started World War 1 and what ended World War 1. Then we had to explain what happedned at that time of the year an who was envolved.

Fraction Solving

L.I to make 3 or more fraction questions using 5ths, quarters and 3rds
This weeks maths must do was to make 3 or more fraction questions using 5ths, quarters and 3rds. We first got into groups of 4 but I was late and had to make a group of 3. The group was: Me, Bella and Farzana. We had 1 question each. We made a fraction solving slide. We had 3 questions and the answers. They had to try figure it out and if ready they have to click to see the answers. Our first question was a house question, second question was a park question and our last question was a youtube subscribers question. This was quite an easy activity although there was only 3 of us.
