Kiwi Can wk 8

This week wednesday we had kiwi can. This week was week 8. The first thing we did at kiwi can was talk about
our new topic which was conflict Resolution. Then we played a game called twenty one. You have to get a ball then
have to try and pass around and count and the person that has the ball last when everyone counts to 21 they are our
keep playing until 1 person is left. Then we talked about our theme which was if someone is fighting leave them
alone or tell the teacher. 4thly we done a game called guess that emoji which you have to have 4 people not
facing the whiteboard then everyone else can look and can’t talk they have to act the emoji our and then the
other people have to guess it. Last but not Least we had our GKQ.

I had 6 words i didn't know. We had to make a copy and find out where you were stuck. I was stuck at a  6 words which was: Frenchman, Blistering, Jeongsean, Vancover, Penultimate and Salom. Those words are pretty hard because they are long and I don't know the meanings of them.

Filing Files

L.I is to clean our drives with a partner

Today we had to get into partners and clean our drives. We had to sort and remove old stuff that we don't need like things from last year and from week 1. I had only 3 empty files to remove in my drive. That was my This vs That, Mottos and My emblem. The reason why we did this is so we can have a tidy drive and also we can organise and get our important stuff easily. Because if we can't find it we will have to restart what we have to do. I put My emblem and my mottos in inquiry and I put the This Vs That in the trash. Now my drive looks clean.

Duffy Assembely

Our duffy Guests today were Matt Johnson & Tayla Hodson Tomokino. Matt is a Rugby player, he plays for the blues. Tayla is an accountant, Commentator and an interviewer. Tayla also use to be a world star and an international BMX bike rider. She went all around the world to BMX bike ride. Her highest place in the world was 2nd, 2nd place in the world. Matt wants to be a PE teacher and Tayla wants to be a lawyer and graduate so she can help other sports people. I liked Tayla because she was a BMX rider that came 2ND place in the world and because she wants to help other sports people/Teams to. Then we had to ask questions if we wanted to. After the duffy assembly Tayla came to our class for more questions. We asked more questions in class like how old are you? After doing the questions Mr Ogilvie our teacher and our PE teacher asked them if they would want to have a little fun with our Minute to Win it activities for the olympics inquiry.

Tayla did the Domino Office bill and the other lady did the Backflip pencils. For office bill you have to make a dominos and with the last book you have to knock all the other books over with to win. And lastly the backflip you have to do the pencils to bakflip them and catch them all.

Kiwi sport Last session with ash

Today LS1 group went to kiwi sport. We went with Ash to play softball but a real game except no pitcher we did it with a TEE. We had to run around the playground and come back. Then we started the soft ball session. We had to field first and the other team was doing the batting first. We had 12 points first round. We had a real game though. It was hard because it was piched at you. We had i think the last session with kiwi sport or with ash. We had fun because we had a real game and because it was pitched at you.

Cricket Inter school

Yesterday Wednesday we had our term 1 inter school Cricket. We had a year 5, 6, 7, and 8 cricket teams. I was in the year 6 team. We had to go to stone fields for this. We had to Play 5 games. I was excited to play cricket Because it was my first time. I was good at Batting then Bowling. We had to VS PT England Red, Tamaki Primary, Patamer Road, PT England Black and Stone fields. We had 2 wins, 2 Loses and 1 Draw. Our first Games was against PT England Red We lost. Our 2nd Game was against Tamaki Primary we won. Our 3rd game was against Patamer road it was hard but we won by 1 point. Our 4th Game was against PT England Black we Drew. And our last game was against Stone Fields it was a very hard game we tried our best but unfortunately we lost. Everyone had fun playing Cricket. I would like to thank MR Ogilvie, Mrs Caroline and Mrs Anderson For helping us and Making sure we were safe.

Device Skills

Today I decided to do this activity. It is the device skills. you have to write what will happen if you do the shortcut and how to do it. I learnt new short cuts. I learnt by doing this slide to show me. It was easy because I already knew some of them. The easyest was the ctrl c cntrl v because it is copy and paste.

Team Motto

L.I is to make a slide of how many mottos you can find
Today I have been working on my finding mottos. Mine was Pak n save.
We had to find a motto then write about how it makes people want to go to that place and why they would put that motto on. We also had to find a range of mottos like Food, Technology, Equipment and others. We had Food, Grocery, our own made, famous shoe and clothing a drink and Microsoft. We were going to do samsung and I phone but Xavier had a good Idea and found some more good one's.

Figurative Language

L.I is to make a copy of this google doc and write what you think it is
This week we have been learning about Figurative Language. We had to do what is a Personification, Alliteration, Idiom, Simile and Metaphor. This is something I forgot about. I have chosen Recount 2 because it had more detail so that's what i had to put the Personification, Alliteration, Idiom, Simile and Metaphor on. The version 2 had more Emotion and Figurative Language means that you are using it which is also using Personification, Alliteration, Idiom, Simile and Metaphor.

Self Monitoring

L.I is to make a poster about what Self Monitoring means
This week we have been learning about self Monitoring. I have done this type of poster so you can see what it means and where I got stuck on it then I went to self monitoring and I figured it out. This is a really good way to find out the words because if you guess what it means you won't actually know what it means then you might not get good marks because you don't know what it means so always use this strategy Self Monitoring for reading and writing.

Using place value house

 L.I is to make a DLO using Place value house to solve Subtraction problems
This week we have been learning how to solve subtraction problems using the Place value house.
I learnt this by watchign a video then getting practice using a google slide to show it on.
We also learned the 1 for ten and ten for 1. This is showing us more about the Place value house.
I learnt hot to subtract problems using the place value house. I decided to make a animation for this so It can give people info of how to use this strategy slowley so they could use it. This is a good peice of work I have been working on because its an Animation with 40 slides.

Kiwi sport WK 6

Today LS1 group went to kiwi sport. We went with Ash to play softball but a real game except no pitcher we did it with a TEE. We had to run around the playground and come back. Then we started the soft ball session. We had to field first and the other team was doing the batting first. We had 12 points first round. Other team had the same. We had fun because we had 2 rounds of this session for batting and fielding. We had to move because of the sewage problem. We had a lot of fun because we had a real game and it felt like we were at a real soft ball game.

L.I is to make a flag or a Logo to represent your team for a minute to win it
yesterday Me, Lukah, Sandra, Xavier and Karlos were working on our Flag/Logo. We had to make a Logo for ur team for minute to win it. We had this as our Logo. L.K.G.X.S is our unseals. I had the Idea of unseals. Xavier Put the Attribution and Sandra, Lukah and Karlos done the image. After that we all agreed that we were going to blog this piece of work for Inquiry. We just finished today and we have time to test the activity's. nWe also had a long time to complete this Activity and we took more than an Hour.

Kiwi can WK 6

Pop Art Recount

Writing: Last week monday we had a lesson in LS1 about pop Art so we could draw a face art of our self. First we had 
done a poster about Andy warhol. We did this because we could get information about him because some people or
mostly everyone In LS1 did not know about him so we did a poster about Andy Warhol with 2 people and you.

After learning about Andy Warhol we had to do the outlining with the blue pen. We had to outline everything with the 
blue pen Like around your head, Your nose and mouth, around your hair then around everything else. That was pretty 
hard because I didn’t know how to do all of that because I Thought I was going to go out of the Lines.

Then we had to go get a pencil then write side to side so if you do the transfer the pen wouldn’t go out all the way if you 
don’t get on that Line it would still be safe so you could carry on with your art. I didn’t get it so I restarted and I was safe
then I carried on. After the 3rd step we did our 4th step which was the transfer you had to do the same as step to but with the pencil side and with a red pen. For this step you had to red pen draw outline the pencil side then had to see if I passed then I did pass. I thought this was the last step. We had to pastel everywhere that is White. I had done my hair, My mouth and nose and chin and the last thing I pastled was the other white bits that are on your piece of paper.

Lastly We had to outline again but with a vivid so you could see the pencil lines again from before that you might of pastled
over and now you can see  because now you have done vivid over it and now it looks like a piece of art.

Personal Reflection: I had fun doing this art because we had to do step by step, It was fun coloring in with pastel, Outlining 
and dividing. The best part of this art was the pastling and the dividing. They were both very easy and I got them done really 
fast. The hard part was the side to side penciling because it took a long time. You had to outline everywhere. The art was fun.

Maths Subtraction Questions

L.I is to make a DLO with the maths questions
Today we have to blog our Maths must do. Our must do is to make a DLO on a slide or a google drawing and answer those subtraction questions but you have to also tell us how you answer that question. After that you have to blog that poster either on a drawing or a slide.

Picking Up PUHA Predictions

L.I is to make a copy of this doc and make predictions about the story picking up PUHA

Today I have finished my Predictions about Picking up PUHA.

I had more than 3 predictions about Picking up PUHA because there was so much things on the page.

I got 2 things right and 8 incorrect but I got 2 of the main things right. 

The only prediction that was hard was think what will be a sentence in the text.

The easiest in the whole of this session was it was a Narrative or a recount.

I had to comment on is the or is jumped a Time connective or a firt person. I had 6 comments or more but it was hard getting all 8 comments on the blog post. I now know new things that I forgot like time connectives. I learnt how to make commens on words on a doc. I learnt by high lighting all of the words that mean time connectives or stuff and comment on that word and comment what that word is for an exaple I is a First Person.

Activating Prior Knowledge

Today I have went on to a google drawing and talked about what is Prior knowledge and what it means and how to sue it. I talked about that. I learnt by useing a google doc and doing what the census is then a google draw to use what I now what Activating Prior knowledge is. What I learnt is how to activate prior knowledge.

Art

L.I is to use different techniques to create a visual art piece
Today I have finally finished my art piece. There was 5 steps but I didn't take a photo of those steps so on the 3rd step I explaned the leftover steps. The easyiest step was the pen step where you have to go over the line wth then pen then the hardest step to me was the pastle because I had to get closesr to the pencile line but to not colour the black parts on my picture. I really liked this art must do because we are doing an art picture of us with out any help and because we are putting it up on the wall to show a picture of us. We did this for us and to show if we could do art just like Andy Warhol.

Maths Question Sloving

L.I is to make a google draw or slide showing the ways to solve these questions
Today I have just finished my google slide of Maths question Solving. I had to solve 10 math questions. They were pretty easy but the hardest questions were the last questions. All I had to do was answer all of the questions that were all on the board and put how you answered that question. I actually think this is an easy activity but I had finished the slide.

Andy Warhol Poster

L.I is to make a Google draw with information about Andy Warhol
Yesterday We started a google drawing with information about Andy Warhol. I really want to know how andy warhol was in men in black 3 when he passed away before men in black three was released.
I am now wondering if you can make the same voice as him or not. We all chose 1 picture each wrote one peice of information each and all of us came up and looked up for two facts for all of us. I am on the Left Karlos is in the middle and xvier on the right. I thaught this was going to be a hard activity but it was quite easy.

Kiwi sport term 1 week 4

Yesterday on Thursday We went to kiwi sport to lear and play softball. We started by run around playground and go back We started with a game of softball and decided to play softball for rest of session. We did 2 turns for pitching/catching the ball and 2 turns for batting but we had to bat 2 balls and only when 2 balls are batted then you could get the ball. We learnt the L which the bat on your shoulder and bat alined with small fingers. We also learned to catch the ball when batted if its batted stait at you catch it and if its near you just pick it up and pass it to someone close.

Today i have decided I want to blog my must do for maths. you have to make a google drwing of how many ways you can add. I have 3 ways you could add. the maths strategy that was the hardest out nof all of this is the top left because it looks all messy.

Today I finneshed reading a book then went to the SSR selfie and talked about what happened in the story. It's a story when you have to choose to got to what ever page it tells you to go to it has 2 pages you culd go to. I got to page 83 and died by getting locked in a zombie room. You could find this book called Virus outbreak in your library.
