Kiwi Can Week 4 Term 1

Today for kiwi can we learn about positive relationships. Our topic was fair play. We started off with our energiser called up and down. We had to try and put the cone up or down depending on which team you were on. I was in Mrs. graces’ team, and hosea and afa, were in mr,  cemanus’ team. Next we were doing acting. Karlos was the actor and We had to try and make him happy again. I managed to make him happy twice and our team won. Next were street fighters. We had to be the first person to complete the amount of moves before the other player versed you. If you make the sound as well and the opposite person doesn’t, you win. We had fun and enjoyed this.

Venn Diagram Kupe and Captain James Cook

L.I to create a Venn Diagram about Kupe and Captain James Cook. We had to compare Kupe and James Cook about what's the same and different. We had 3 each for different things and 4 things they had the same. The one I found most interesting is that Captain James Cook wasn't the first one to find New Zealand / Aotearoa which Kupe was the first. I enjoyed this activity, and Victoria, Fau, Sulia, Sakina, Haylee, Chris and I worked as a group.

Summer Learning Jeourney

Last week Friday, Panmure Bridge School had a visit from the Summer Learning Journey. They came to speak to us because of our school participating in their project for the summer holidays. We had round 30 - 40 participators from our school. I partisipated in this and so as many others from my class. I enjoyed this because I knew I could do it. I got a certificate and I was talking maori to introduce them into our assembly.

Kiwi Can Week 3 Term 1

This week for kiwican we were focusing on Positive Relationships and fairness and fair play. We first started off with our energiser called pushup challenge. We were to try to get the cone first in the practice round. Then the competition. I came 2nd. Then we talked about giving things a go. We also talked about how we can show this. Next we carried on to the activity called 1v1. We got into partners and we had to show our partner through drama. We did dramatic cry, dramatic faint, new dance move, catwalk, aliens, scariest thing, and pukana. The people that were shy gave this a go and they liked it. Lastly, we did GKQ (General Knowledge Questions) and we did girls vs boys.

Tech Week 2 Term 1 Reflecion

This week for tech (Pewter Casting), we were focusing on finding 4 silhouettes each for 4 people so you have 16 ideas for your design. Then you can choose one of them to create. My favorite design in the wrench because my uncle likes tools. I also like the dog because I like dogs. If we were confident that we had 16 working ideas, we needed to write our name on the board, then Mr Grundy will call your name to check on your designs, to see if they'll work. I enjoyed thi week because I can't wait to finish my designs and get working.

Treaty Of Waitangi Summary

For waitangi, we read a text about the history and information behind Te Tiriti O Waitangi. We read the text and we created a DLO about the waitangi reading. We chose 20 important words about the subject and chose 6 of them for the most important words. We then used those 6 words to create a summary about what we know about Te Tititi O Waitangi.

Tech Term 1 Week 1 Reflection

This week for tech we started the year of with Mr.Grundy (Metal Working). We all started with an introduction on who our teacher was. He setted up some rules to keep us aware of things and safe. We were learning the types of material we were using. Then we looked at the types of shapes we could make. We then came up with 4 ideas each for 4 people we would give the idea of what we could make. We only came as far as finding shapes and ideas for people. Next session we will be choosing a shape and focusing on how we could cut it out and what to do with it.
